Families in this day and age are keeping photos, music, videos and important documents on their
computers as electronic files. Keeping your electronic assets organized is just as important, if not more
so, than your paper documents. Here are a few tips for a clutter-free computer.
- Create a logical, consistent naming system for your documents. This will make it easier
to use your computer's search feature to locate things.
- File items in electronic folders as you would a traditional filing cabinet. Organize your files
by family member, date, file type, or whatever categories make sense for you.
- Back up everything! There's nothing more stressful than the thought of losing your
precious electronic assets when a hard drive crashes.
